Chichester cricket pitch to swap stumps for caravans
People living close to a cricket pitch in Chichester will soon see the turf dug up and swapped for caravans, it has been reported.
According to Chichester Today, officials in the area are to turn the site into a caravan park.
It added that the site will hold 45 motor homes, the office for the park and two tennis courts.
However, it may be that the introduction of the vehicles to the area means that those with caravans see an increase in their caravan insurance policies.
This is because a number of cover firms could see the hike in motor homes as indicative of a greater threat to caravans already there.
Similarly, the tourism brought to the area by the site could also be viewed as potentially dangerous.
Chichester District Council is accepting opinion on the plans by January 23rd and by those quoting the reference 07/06031.
Meanwhile, the BBC reports that thousands of people in Tewkesbury spent Christmas in caravans following the flooding of the area of the summer.
The conditions led to the suspension of a number of railways services in the region.
