Caravan park pumped as floods returns to Yorkshire

Firemen in Yorkshire had to pump water from a site in Sheffield after heavy rain led to flooding in the region, it has been reported.

According to the Star, torrential downpour led to local roads becoming virtually unusable and caused panic for those looking to protect their homes.

The publication commented that council bosses are now urging motorists to be careful if they plan to travel on untreated surfaces.

Caravan Insurance

People with caravan insurance may find that their vehicles were damaged in the flooding, while cover providers could perceive the incident as indicative to a greater threat in the area.

The news source added that Castle Hills Primary School in Scrawthorpe was closed down because of the conditions, with 307 pupils missing lessons.

Head teacher Alan Smith commented that this was a necessity "due to the possibility if increased flooding and the lack of toilet facilities".

Meanwhile, the Suffolk Evening Star reports that Norfolk firefighters were called to a caravan blaze early this morning.

The brigade members extinguished the Brunstead fire after an hour, with one person suffering from smoke inhalation.
