Caravan park picks up award for high standards

A caravan publication has named a site in Grantown as its park of the year, it has been reported.

The Strathspey and Badenoch Herald comments that the Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park was awarded the Scottish Caravanners' Park of the Year prize for consistently high standards.

Among the perks offered to those visiting the attraction are satellite television and under-floor heating in vehicles.

Joint-owner John Fleming commented that those involved at the site are "delighted" to have been honoured by the publication, it added.

"Our high standards are important to us and we are on a continual programme of capital investment, which means that our customers get extra services here than they would almost anywhere else," he said.

It may be that caravan sites with a high standard of security result in cheaper caravan insurance policies for those who visit.

This is because cover firms could view the region to be less dangerous and charge a smaller amount.

Meanwhile, News Shopper reports that Bromley residents have voiced their disapproval at plans to built flats on a former caravan site.

Hexagon Housing Association will build 37 apartments on Abbey Road, Belvedere, it adds.
