Holidaymakers 'angry at price increase'

A number of caravan owners have stated their displeasure at a decision made by Silver Sands park staff to increase prices, it has been reported.

The Northern Scot comments that as many as 70 owners have already moved their static caravans as a result of the hike in costs.

It may be that they were unwilling to pay the amount in addition to extras including caravan insurance policies.

The news source comments that people on the site have been issued a letter which tells them to pay up by May or leave.

According to one owner, who asked to be anonymous, the thinking behind the decision is incomprehendable.

"We are becoming increasingly frustrated, but despite our protestations, Green Parcs are refusing to talk to us," he said.

"We cannot fathom out their thinking. Money is walking out of the door every time a caravan leaves and that would seem bad business."

Meanwhile, the Northumberland Gazette comments that an application to build a caravan park in Alnwick has been rejected by officials.

The news source states that access to the site was among the primary reasons behind the decision.
