First Cambourne caravan park opens
People will soon be able to stay in a caravan in Cambourne, as the area's first trailer park is set to open next month, it has been reported.
According to Huntingdon Today, the site is to receive its first vehicle on Friday February 1st.
The park, which can be found off New Hall Lane, has room for 55 caravans, with the people of Cambourne given priority over spaces.
It may be that any more lots has an effect on caravan insurance costs in the area, as cover companies could judge the cost of their policies on the volume of vehicles close by.
Cambourne consortium project director David Chare commented that he is happy to be handing the site over to the local council.
He said: "We are delighted to be giving the Trailer Park to the residents of Cambourne offering them a safe and secure place to store their caravans, trailers and camper vans."
This comes as research from The Caravan Club states that the number of people taking holidays in trailers has gone up.
According to the group, 19 per cent more Britons went to stay in a motor home last year.
