People who own motor homes in the UK have been advised to check what their caravan insurance policies cover before storing valuables inside, an insurance body has claimed.

According to the Association of British Insurers, details can vary from policy to policy so it is therefore important to know exactly what can be regained should an accident or theft occur.

The uncertainty was underlined by a spokesman from the group, who commented that vehicles are often covered by both home contents and motor insurance cover depending on where the vehicle is.

For example, it is covered by a home policy when parked in a drive and a car insurance deal when on the road.

"Check your policy limits for individual items and, if you're taking stuff away that is more expensive than your policy limits, then get it listed - on either your specialist caravan policy or your home insurance policy," the representative commented.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express claims that a number of illegal migrants are being housed in caravans and garden sheds in a number of towns across Britain.
