Lottery-winning family 'prefers caravan holidays'

A family of lottery winners would not change their traditional caravan holidays for love nor money, according to a new report.

The Daily Mail states that the Prances picked up a £6.9 million fortune and, rather than splash out on a sunny villa in Spain or a lodge in the Alps, have invested in three caravans.

Now the family has set up their vehicles along Trecco Bay caravan park in Porthcawl in South Wales, a formation which the paper has dubbed Millionaires Row.

"I've been coming here since I was a little boy and always dreamed of having my own luxury caravan here. I feel so lucky," said former train driver Carl Prance, 50.

The Prance family's fortune may mean that they do not have to worry about paying a high caravan insurance policy, although the windswept seaside resort may require them to fully secure their vehicle against damage.

A report in the Chorley Citizen states that police in Lancashire have warned caravan owners in the region to stay alert during this time of year.

The news source comments that officials dealt with a "large" number of thefts in the area in 2007.
