Caravanning 'now at its most popular'
Taking a holiday in caravan is more popular than it has ever been, according to an industry body.
According to The Caravan Club, the flexibility such a trip offers is one of the primary reasons why people are choosing to pick up a motor home and head away.
Figures from the group in 2000 show the industry has a yearly turnover of £2.5 billion, including the sales of products as well as holidays.
This may also include caravan insurance, which is a good idea for anybody looking to keep their motor home covered in the event of damage.
Nikki Nichols, head of PR for the firm, comments that the pursuit is at its most popular.
She said: "People are getting switched onto the fact that you haven't got to wait all year long for a one or two-week holiday...With a caravan or motor caravan you could go away every weekend if you wanted to."
Last month, a spokesperson for the Association of British Insurers commented that people taking holidays in caravans should look to cover themselves with adequate caravan insurance.
