'Changing world' theme of National Caravan Council conference

The changing world is to be the theme of this year's conference from the National Caravan Council, the body has announced.

Speakers from across the industry are to feature at the event, which will be held at the Cotswold Water Park, Four Pillars Hotel in Gloucestershire over Thursday March 13th and Friday March 14th.

Gareth Birch from JLT Leisure will be attending and speaking to the industry audience, as will Chris Turner, director at Bank of Scotland Dealer Finance.

Similarly, David Ritchie will also deliver a speech. Mr Ritchie has been editor of trade publication Caravan Industry since 1971.

And representing the caravan industry sector will be Mel Copper, who is chief executive of the Association of British Insurers.

It may be that those looking to take out a cover deal on a motor home find that keeping close tabs on the event could prove useful when they settle on a deal.

Meanwhile, statistics from the National Caravan Council have outlined the extent to which caravanning is a way of life for many people in the UK.

There were 520,000 touring vehicles in the UK in 2000 in addition to 108,000 motor homes, according to the industry body.
