Perthshire caravan enquiry begins
An investigation into the eviction of elderly people from their homes at a caravan park in Bridgend began yesterday, it has been reported.
The Perthshire Advertiser states that the inquiry will feature Labour MP Gordon Banks is taking place at the Crieff Hotel.
It adds that this is the last chance for the residents in the area to save their homes and will also see developers Welch Homes investigated for its selling and marketing of caravans on the site.
If the area is found to be at fault, it may result in a loss of visitors and a drop in profits.
This could see the cost of caravan insurance for staying in the region decrease, as firms may see a lack of motor homes as indicative of a smaller risk.
"I fully appreciate that this is largely a conflict between Welch Homes and Perth and Kinross Council but I want to further reinforce the image that the residents are most definitely the innocent parties caught in the crossfire and those who stand to lose the most," said Gordon Banks MP.
The Denbighshire Free Press reports that Les Green from Warrington has been forced to leave Glan Ceirw Caravan Park due to the conditions of his home.
Mr Green was a major contributor to the site.
