West Yorks caravan towers warned of M1 dangers
West Yorkshire drivers have been told to steer clear of the M1 if they are towing caravans, a local news source has reported.
The Yorkshire Post comments that officials in the area have decreed the Humber Bridge inaccessible to high-sided vehicles as well as caravans.
It may be that travelling on the road results in a number of difficulties for drivers which could compromise their caravan insurance policies.
The news source adds that two trucks have been blown over on the A1 while police were needed to escort a lorry from the M62 without incident.
Similar weather warnings have been issued on the southbound lane of the M6 close to Southwaite after a van trailing a caravan was blown over, reports the News & Star.
A travelling showman in Garstang is to appeal to the government in his attempt to set up a caravan park in the region, according to the Garstang Today.
Local landowner Stanley Cubbins is to campaign against initial council rejections to his site at a public inquiry into the matter, reported the news source.
