Caravan site plans 'angers Mansfield residents'

Plans to open a caravan site in Kirkby near Mansfield have been opposed by local residents, according to a news source in the area.

The Mansfield Chad states that people believe the proposed park close to Diamond Avenue will result in increased pollution levels and well as more traffic and noise.

It may be that it also increases the cost of caravan insurance in the region, as firms could consider them a greater number of vehicles indicative of a greater risk of damage to vehicles.

According to the news source, a submission has been sent to Ashfield District Council, with one local resident claiming that "a lot of people on the street are very unhappy with this".

"This land should not be built on and if people move into this site it will cause a lot of problems as regards to noise and traffic increases. We will do what we can to stop this going ahead," said another.

Meanwhile, the Banffshire Journal reports that repair works to the drainage and sewer systems at Banff Links Caravan Park will delay the seasonal opening of the site.
