Floods see caravan site evacuated
A caravan site in Chichester was partially evacuated after strong weather conditions brought on flooding, a news source in the area has reported.
The Chichester Observer has commented that officers from West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, the Environmental Agency and the local police assisted residents at West Sands Caravan Park in Selsey on Monday March 10th.
But some dwellers have decided that it is best to stay in their motor homes and reject official advice.
They may be worried that their vehicles will be damaged in their absence, perhaps causing them to make a claim on their caravan insurance polices or pay for repairs.
Indeed, it may be that caravan insurance companies choose to increase their prices in the event of an accident.
Police officers are now warning people in the region to refrain from entering the area should traffic congestion prove to be a problem for operatives.
Meanwhile, the BBC has reported that western parts of Cumbria are at risk from tidal flooding.
The Environmental Agency commented to the national news provider that winds as strong as gale force eight and nine are expected tonight.
