Britain 'appeals to holidaymakers'

People visiting the UK for a holiday do so for a wide variety of reasons, according to a British tourism group.

Statistics from the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions and reproduced by UKinbound show that 5.5 million tourists went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach in 2007.

There were also 3.6 million people who went to the National History Museum when they visited the UK last year, the figures indicate.

Caravan Insurance

Sightseeing trips can be perfectly accommodated by a caravanning holiday, as tourists can pitch up or leave various locations whenever it suits them.

However, it may be a good idea to pick up a thorough caravan insurance policy when heading abroad.

According to Steven Dowd, UKinbound chief executive, "there is something [in the UK] for everyone".

"[They come] for a variety of reasons, but [it] has a great deal to do with our history, our culture and the sheer variety of things we have in this country," commented the official.

Meanwhile, statistics produced by the Caravan Club show that people choosing to take a caravan vacation now account for close to 17 per cent of the holiday market in the UK.
