Caravan crime to be discussed at conference
Officials from across the motor industry will convene next month in order to discuss vehicle crime at a conference in Warwickshire next month.
The region's Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon will welcome speakers from across the sector including guest speakers from the Association of Chief Police Officers.
Also on hand, discussing the theft of caravans, cars and bikes, will be Lord Brian Mackenzie of Framwellgate.
It may be that the action taken as a result of the conference sees the cost of caravan insurance go down.
But this is only if cover firms see a downward trend in the number of vehicles being damaged across the UK.
Officials already have a number of methods in place in order to prevent incidents and catch out thieves, according to Dr Kenneth German.
"Police vehicles are being fitted with mobile data terminals and ANPR technology and number plate technology remain key weapons in volume enforcement," the official remarked.
Meanwhile, statistics released by the Home Office show that there has been a reduction in vehicle crime reported since 1995.
Over the last 13 years, there has been a 61 per cent drop, the body has stated.
