Caravan park gets safety award
A caravan park in Skegness has won an award for its commitment to safety.
North Shore Holiday Centre won the Safe Siting Commendation award after sending eight of its staff on a health and safety course, the Skegness Standard reports.
The course is run by Caravan Industry Training (CITO) and teaches workers to take into account all of the potential risks and hazards posed by caravans, as well as the physical position of the vans themselves - something that could have an effect on the park's caravan insurance premiums.
"All in all, they have shown they put the health and safety of their staff and all the people on the park first, and they should be congratulated," a spokesperson for CITO remarked.
CITO is owned by the British Holiday & Home Parks Association and the National Caravan Council. It is responsible for providing information and training to caravan and other types of holiday parks across the UK.
