Spring 'a good time to take out caravan insurance'

The Easter period provides the ideal time for people to start thinking about taking out a caravan insurance policy, according to a news provider.

Now that the spring has arrived, the Huddersfield Examiner has claimed that people traditionally get their vehicles out of storage in order to prepare for the onset of the summer season.

However, thieves have already struck in the area, taking two motor homes from houses, the news source added.

One green and white Elddis motor home was taken from a property in Dewsbury while a £3,000 caravan was taken from a Cumberworth house.

According to the news source, people should also consider strategies to avoid their caravans being targeted when on holiday.

These include keeping windows and doors locked whenever the vehicle is empty, while owners should also refrain from leaving the model's documentation inside, as thieves could use them in order to sell the caravan on.

Meanwhile, the Forrester has reported that a family in Gloucestershire will be claiming on their caravan insurance policy following a fire in their vehicle which has left them homeless.
