Discover acquires East Yorkshire motor home trader
An outdoor specialist has acquired a motor home dealership as part of a multi-million pound agreement, it has been stated.
Discover Leisure has picked up a site from Staffordshire-based Brownhills Group in a £2.66 million deal, the Yorkshire Post has reported.
The news source added that the move represents a step towards the long-term vision of the company.
Indeed, chief executive Trevor Park remarked that the acquisition is "in line" with Discover Leisure's plans and its pursuit of "being market leader in all of the UK's main market areas".
The presence of the extra site may result in more caravan-related activity in the region, which could in turn increase the cost of caravan insurance if cover firms consider the boost enough of a risk.
Discover Leisure was first established in April 2003 and in May 2005 it was listed on the stock market.
In July 2007 the firm revealed that its annual turnover was £150 million, while it also now has 15 sites in various locations in the UK.
