Caravans 'still housing flood victims'

People who suffered as a result of last year's flooding across the UK are still living in caravans as they wait to be rehoused, it has been reported.

The Evesham Journal has stated that more than 350 residents in the area remain in motor homes as the damage to their houses has not been repaired.

Conservative official Sir Michael Spicer is "anxious" to get the situation resolved, adding that he would also like to see utility companies convene to ensure clean water problems experienced in the area do not recur.

But he maintained that "the effects of the severe flooding are by no means over", the news source added.

Those with caravans in the area may have seen their motor homes damaged last summer when floods hit the UK and left a trail of destruction.

"I am concerned that we are not drawing on last summer's experience to prevent its worst excesses from happening again," said the official.

This comes as the Malvern Gazette reports that Glen and Robert Green have been allowed to move back into their flood-damaged house.

It stated that the pair are "ecstatic" to have moved back in.
