Councillors 'have been neglecting caravan park'
Angus council officials have been accused of neglecting a caravan park in the area and missing out on the chance to attract holidaymakers there.
The Montrose site, South Links Caravan Park, suffers from antiquated, undesirable and unattractive features due to years of the council refusing to spruce it up.
A regular at the park commented that his latest trip left him unsure as to whether he will return, even though he has done for the past six years.
"I go to Montrose quite a lot and my family goes quite a lot. But it's really mucky and it's pretty downtrodden. There's been fires in the bins and a wall has been knocked down," said Angus Wood.
Such conditions may prove problematic for caravan insurance policy holders, as they could end up claiming on their deals due to the problems at the site.
Meanwhile, close to 30 caravans were destroyed in a fire at a Devon business, it has been reported.
The blaze could be seen for miles and that local homes were evacuated for fear that the fire could spread to gas cylinders and cause an explosion.
