Planning inspector rejects caravan park plans
Plans to develop a caravan park in rural Burnley have been turned down by a planning inspector, it has been reported.
This is Lancashire has stated that the local council's development control committee has turned down proposals to construct the attraction at Brownside Farm off Red Lees Road in Worsthorne.
The introduction of the park may have resulted in an increase in local caravan insurance prices, as cover firms could charge more if they view the region as more of a risk.
According to the planning inspector, the development of the park did not preserve or enhance the character of the location in which it was to be built.
"The closely-spaced caravans would have the effect of extending the urban area into the rural area, reducing the beneficial effect of the green wedge of countryside," stated the official's report to local councillors.
Meanwhile, the Northumberland Gazette has stated that traffic in Coquetdale could be tempered by plans to change the operation of a caravan park in the region.
Alnwick district council has received an application from Coquetdale Caravan Park in Whitton, Rothbury for permission to install 12 static caravans on an existing section of the site.
