Caravan dwellers set to move back home
Residents of Whitley Wood whose lives were turned upside-down by the severe flooding which hit the UK last year are finally set to move back home, it has been reported.
According to the Reading Evening Post, people living in Byworth Close and Moreleigh Road saw their homes damaged by the problem on Friday July 20th.
Since then, a number have had to camp out in a caravan while repairs were carried out on their property.
It may be that this has proved to be particularly expensive when the cost of caravan insurance is factored in.
One couple, Alan and Pauline Jones, are the last couple to move back to their home following repairs, the news source added.
And Mr Jones remarked that the delay is partly down to the builder recommended to them by their caravan insurance company.
"If we could have used our own builders, I'm sure it would have been done more quickly," he said.
Earlier this month a fire in Devon saw 30 caravans destroyed at the Outdoor Experience store close to the A38 near Ashburton.
According to the BBC, nobody was injured in the blaze.
