Preston-based caravan dealership Hymer has announced that it has entered three of its vehicles into the Caravan Club Motor Caravan Design and Drive Competition, a local news source has stated.

The Preston Citizen has reported that the company's wares will be judged by more than 70 criteria such as practicality, innovation and overall appeal.

People looking to pick up a vehicle in the near future could benefit from keeping a close eye on the competition, as it may be that the results also give an indication as to which models are cheap to insure.

But with more than 50 vehicles put forward for this year's contest, competition will be tough.

According to Hymer UK managing director Paul Kershaw, the company is "very pleased" to have an involvement in proceedings.

He said: "Motor caravanning is becoming an increasingly popular way of spending a holiday and this has created a boom in sales."

The Hymer UK showroom is located in Preston, Lancashire and is the only authorised Hymer dealership in Britain.

A parts and accessories store selling Hymer-branded products is located within a two-minute car journey, according to the firm's website.
